We can put a man on the Moon, but we can't do anything better than putting a man on the Moon.

Congratulations, mankind. The pinnacle of human achievement occurred 39 years ago.

Shouldn’t we have put a man on Mars and cured cancer by now? Shouldn’t we all be zooming around in our zero-emissions flying cars while being waited on by our robot servants?

Here we are on our warming planet, still fighting each other over stupid things while our fellow humans die of starvation and disease. On this 39th anniversary of the moon landing you’ve got to wonder, if we put a man on the Moon in 1969, then why is the world still a terrible mess in 2008?
